Team is where Midshift stops being a rota and starts saving Monday morning. Staff clock in on their own phone (inside a geofence you draw) or on a shared tablet by the till, and their clocked time sits beside the rostered time rather than replacing it. You approve the week once, and the hours go to payroll.
It costs £39 a month including your first 15 people, then £2 for each additional person rostered in the month. A 30-person restaurant pays £69.
Labour cost while you build
Set a weekly labour budget per location and the rota shows the running cost as you drag shifts around, with Sunday and bank-holiday rates already applied. Most managers find the week that “felt busy” was really a Tuesday afternoon with two people too many.
Qualifications and cover rules
Mark who holds a food hygiene certificate, who can open, who can run the pass or the dispensary. Midshift will not let an open shift go to someone who is not trained for it, and warns you before you publish a day with nobody qualified to lock up.
Payroll without retyping
Approved hours push directly to Xero, Sage, BrightPay and QuickBooks, or download as a CSV that your bureau already reads — one row per person per week, rostered, clocked and approved side by side.
